Cost-Effective Website Development Strategies

24

You can want your website for a variety of reasons…

A website is one of the first things you need in place if you want to launch an online business.

If you already have a successful company, you might find it helpful to establish a dedicated online presence that clients can access even when you’re not open for business.

Perhaps you need or desire a website for personal use.

No of your motivations for having a website, taking on such an endeavor for the first time can be an overwhelming experience.

Perhaps you’ve been told that you need to engage a team of programmers and web designers to get your website online. While it is possible to do so, the associated costs may exceed your budget constraints.

What happens if you decide to hire one of these organizations but then decide you want to make a change to your website? It may require time and money to make even little changes, such as rewriting a sentence or switching out an image or the color scheme.

Wouldn’t it be simpler if you didn’t have to deal with these difficulties and could make the necessary adjustments yourself?

You might think you can’t contribute because you lack coding skills…

Or you lack the requisite IT expertise for such a task…

Or maybe it’s simply too complicated for you to handle alone…

You might even be thinking that you have no idea where to begin…

You’re in good company; many people experience similar doubts when presented with a similar opportunity.

The good news is that it’s easier than ever to create your website; you can have one up and operate in only one afternoon.

No coding experience is necessary…

There is no need for computer science knowledge…

the difficulty level is lower than you might imagine.

Concerning the initial step…

Yes, I’m about to reveal that to you!

If you want your website to be taken seriously as a business, you will need your website with your web address, but you may think the easiest way is to head off to Wix or Weebly and create a free drag-and-drop website.

Seeing as your website is typically the first impression a potential consumer has of your business, what impression do you think it produces if you offer products or services on a website from a free provider?

If you want to avoid the hassle and potential costs of upgrading to a paid site in the future, investing a little money now will pay off in the long run.

Also, for less than ten bucks a month, you may have your online presence, complete with your domain name.

Creating a website from scratch can seem overwhelming, but it’s not as difficult as you imagine.

Pick and Buy a Nickname

Choosing a name for your website is the first step in creating your online presence.

I find it helpful to brainstorm potential domain names by writing them down, and I try to come up with at least three that I like because it’s likely that someone else has already claimed one of them.

You are the only one who can decide on a name for your website, but it should reflect the industry or field in which you are currently working.

A domain name like beginnersgolfvideos.com might be appropriate for a business that sells instructional golf videos.

Tools can help you choose a domain name if you have problems independently.

When you’ve settled on a name for your website, we’ll check into registering it with a domain name provider.

The annual cost of a domain name is typically between $6 and $12.

Your domain name provider will send you a renewal request email just before your domain name expires. You can choose to renew the name or let it lapse.

There are several domain name providers to choose from, and while they all essentially provide the same service at around the same price, shopping around is always a good idea.

You’ll need an account to register your information and make payment for your new domain name after you’ve picked it out.

Finally, you may say that you have your domain name.

Put money into web hosting.

The next step is to get web hosting from a hosting firm and launch your website.

There are hundreds of web hosting services, like hundreds of domain name providers. However, unlike domain name providers, it is more important to ensure you get a good hosting service that can provide reliable service.

Although it may seem more convenient, purchasing web hosting from the same business that supplied your domain name is typically more expensive.

Do your homework and check out some reviews to see which firms provide a good service, and don’t be afraid to ask around among friends and coworkers who also have websites to see which ones they use and recommend.

After settling on a hosting provider, setting up an account is simple; once you’ve decided which plan to go with, all you have to do is visit their website, fill out the required information, pay the first month’s hosting fee (often $10 to $15), and wait for the confirmation email.

You’ve successfully secured both a domain name and web hosting, right?

Configure Your Name Servers

Setting your domain name servers is the last step before creating your website.

We need only inform the service that manages your domain name servers of the address where your site’s files are stored.

Setting your domain name servers is what you need to accomplish.

It’s more straightforward than it sounds; you only have to tell your domain provider where you’ll be hosting the site.

You must copy the information from the email your domain name provider issued you and paste it into the appropriate field on their website.

You wouldn’t have to worry about this if you bought your domain name and hosting from the same place.
